Itinerary

The itinerary is kept somewhat flexible so we can adjust for weather and group interests. The itinerary below is just an example of what you can expect.

Day 1 (Saturday, Sept. 29):

  • Meet in Jackson at 12:00pm. We’ll head out together from here for a scenic introductory day hike.

  • Car camp at a beautiful location with Teton views where we’ll cook a meal together and practice capturing lifestyle imagery in a camp setting.

Day 2 (Sunday, Sept. 30):

  • Wake up early to shoot sunrise followed by a camp breakfast.

  • Day hike to Peaked Mountain after riding the chair lift to the top of Grand Targhee Resort.

  • Dinner in Jackson. Restaurant choice will be made based on a group vote.

  • Stay the night in the Lodge Family Suite at Cowboy Village Resort. We’ll spend some time here doing a group edit/image critique session.

Day 3 (Monday, Oct. 1):

  • After a leisurely morning, head to a scenic location for portrait sessions. Each person will have the chance to have their portrait taken as well as practice on other participants. We’ll spend the remainder of the afternoon chasing fall colors.

  • Drive to a local hot spring with nearby camping.

  • Cook dinner at camp followed by a night photography lesson.

Day 4 (Tuesday, Oct. 2):

  • Pack up camp and drive to a trailhead where we will begin hiking to a backcountry location for an overnighter.

  • There will be plenty of opportunities to practice everything we’ve discussed in the earlier days of the workshop.

Day 5 (Wednesday, Oct. 3):

  • Hike out and drive back to Jackson
